Shivu

Hi, I'm Shivu 👋 I'm a Computer Science Master's student at Northeastern University, specializing in MLSystems through coursework like Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Foundations of Distributed Systems and Operating Systems Implementation. Before grad school, I spent over three years as a backend engineer at BetterCloud and G2, where I designed and scaled production services — from distributed provisioning pipelines handling thousands of integrations to real-time ingestion systems built on AWS.

In my graduate work, I've gone deeper into the foundations that make large-scale systems possible: implementing distributed snapshot algorithms, writing bare-metal SD card drivers on RISC-V, and building virtual memory subsystems from scratch. I'm drawn to the layer where systems thinking meets real constraints — concurrency, fault tolerance, hardware-software boundaries.

Lately, my interests have been converging on ML Systems — the infrastructure that makes machine learning work at scale. Training clusters, model-serving pipelines, efficient inference on constrained hardware, and the distributed systems challenges that underpin all of it. I'm excited about building the systems layer that turns ML research into reliable, performant products.

I'm currently seeking internship and co-op opportunities where I can contribute at this intersection of systems engineering and machine learning infrastructure. If that resonates, I'd love to connect.
